The Other Side of London

Hello all!!

Richmond was all about Regatta yesterday. Lots of young boys and girls rowing and screaming. It was somewhat stressful watching them labour in the rain:

I think I was more interested in signs like these:

And animals taking shelter from the summer's rain:

My heart always skips a beat when I see boats. Don't now why, but there it is:

Lately, I have been somewhat obsessed by animals' heads as head gear. This girl got there before me. Grrrr!!

And this morning walking back from the most amazing Pilates class in King's Road, I stopped and smelled the roses :-)

Have a happy week everyone. I hope you notice things and see people that make your heart skip a beat and put a smile on your face.

Cockerel and Freaky Girls!

Hello all!!

As you know by now, I do and love random.

So, here is a random selection of pictures.

The horror of these dolls amuses me:

I spent quite some time watching this beautiful bird:

I wish you a random and colourful week.

I Want a Pink Door!

Hello all!!

So, it is the end of the last half term of this year. And it has been the happiest week I've had in a long time.
I've been very productive, but also had some lazy cat days. I spent quality time with friends, but also enjoyed my own company (maybe a little bit too much).
I've read two books and watched a good documentary about taste and working class in the UK.
The soundtrack for the week has mostly been the wonderful Bjork, and in particular this song:

I did yoga, drank cocktails and wine, ate good, healthy food and smiled. A lot.

And of course, I never forgot to look up and notice the beautiful and the detail around me. Here are some of the things I spotted:

The only thing that is missing in my life is a pink door:

But I suppose, you can't have everything, right? :-)

Have a lovely week everyone.

Friends, Beers and Body Suits! Things That Make a Day Perfect!

Hello all!

As I spent the first few days of half term at home working on the Dreamland performance, writing, rehearsing and having friends over, it was time to get out and enjoy the rain with friends. I gave up on fighting this weather, so I am now embracing it. Puddle hoping turned out to be a lot of fun. I seemed to have forgotten how good it feels.

So, as well as spending the day with friends and having a fabulous day, I also:

Talked to this lovely trader who worked hard on selling his mangoes. I didn't have any change, so I just took a picture of these small bananas and his handsome self:

Did a bit of window shopping:

And took a picture of my current obsession; plastic flowers. I wouldn't want them in my house, but can't get enough of them otherwise. The idea of a plastic flower is my favourite topic at the moment:

Late afternoon, it was time for coffee, tea and cake:

And in the evening, beers:

And,... I finally bought that vintage halterneck shirt. Well, last time I saw it on a mannequin, it looked like a shirt. But, it is actually even better than that. It is a body suit. Can't wait to wear it:

Hope you are spending quality time with your friends and buying yourself nice treats.

Craving Sunshine!

Hello all!!

I managed to escape the Jubilee madness and all the parties by being cooped up at home most of the long weekend and that's exactly what I needed. I ventured out on Monday night, had one of the best nights out in a long, long time, and was back home again a few hours later.
And now that the flags are slowly coming down and parties have stopped, it is safe again to go out and enjoy London. But,.. the weather is just not fun. It is raining too much and the sun is so shy, it comes out for a very brief moment and it is gone again.

Who would have thought that just two weeks ago, we had proper summer?!

It was so hot, that this girl and I couldn't resist splashing in the water in King's Road.

Summer colours and summer treats galore:

Even the signs around were positive:

And movies were romantic:

And most importantly, I could wear my sunglasses and summer dresses:

So, come on sunshine, come back to London. You are desperately needed.

I hope you are having better luck wherever with weather you are!
